The Rockaway Township Public School District is made up of five elementary schools and one middle school. The elementary schools in the district serve 1,875 students and include Birchwood School, Catherine A. Dwyer School, Dennis B. O'Brien School, Katherine D. Malone School and Stony Brook School. Copeland Middle School serves the 970 sixth through eighth graders in Rockaway Township. The high school students attend Morris Hills High School along with students from Rockaway Borough, Denville, and Wharton.
